Amort is a funeral doom band founded in 2007 .

history

Amort is a solo project by Tobias Burch that has been active since 2007. By 2009, Burch released a series of demo recordings and a self-published split EP with The Comfort Wives under the label Orobas Records, as well as a demo that was released via Aquarius Records . In 2009, the creation of Records Winter Tales, which specializes in vinyl releases from well-known metal artists such as Nachtmystium , Sleep and Godflesh , was released as a long-playing record. The album summarized various demo contributions and added the track Desert of Ice . This little-reviewed but positively received album was followed by a split EP with Ives in 2011 , which was released on Boue Records .

style

In a band presentation for the webzine Doom-Metal.com , the music is described as “minimalist, raw and cruel”, while it is “focused more on ugliness than depression.” For a classifying comparison, there are genre representatives such as Worship , Sinistra , Septic Flesh and Of Darkness . The atmosphere is described as “nihilistic and yet warm and dreamy at the same time”. According to the genre, the music combines strongly distorted guitar playing with clear piano melodies.
