The Burgschwalbach office was a Hessian , then Nassau administrative district with its seat in Burgschwalbach .

history

The Burgschwalbach was the center of a management unit of Katzenelnbogen , which became the core of Hesse-Darmstadt. In the 16th century, Panrod and Dörsdorf were named as components alongside Burgschwalbach .

In 1536 the office fell to Nassau-Saarbrücken as part of an exchange . When this line became extinct, the office became part of Nassau-Usingen in 1723. In 1729 the administrative structure in Nassau-Usingen was reorganized. Now the office consisted of Burgschwalbach, Panrod and Dörsdorf as well as Berghausen , Mudershausen , Hausen , Daisbach and the smaller part of Kettenbach . The greater part of Kettenbach belonged to the noble von Galen family . In 1777 the treasurer Clemens August Freiherr von Galen sold the von Galenschen share in Nassau-Usingen.

In 1804 the office was dissolved and the offices were assigned to the office Catzenelenbogen .
