Office Ohsen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ohsen office was a historical administrative area of the Principality of Calenberg and the Kingdom of Hanover . The higher administrative level was the Landdrostei Hannover , seat of the bailiff Kirchohsen .

history

The office arose from the accessories of the Ohsen Castle of the Counts of Everstein , first mentioned in 1259 , which in the 14th century partially passed into the possession of the Welfs or noblemen of Homburg . In 1408/09 the office was finally welfisch and was mostly pledged until the 17th century. The official district, comprising only five villages, was merged with the Grohnde Office to form the Grohnde-Ohsen Office in 1815 (from 1852 only Grohnde Office, in 1859 it was merged with Hameln Office ).
