In 1914, what was then the Salzuflen District Court was renamed the Bad Salzuflen District Court. Because of a lack of staff, only the Detmold and Lemgo district courts in the Detmold district court, in addition to Bad Salzuflen, had been occupied since mid-June 1943, so that the Bad Salzuflen district court also had to look after the district of the Oerlinghausen district court .
The listed former courthouse was built in 1879/80 in the neo-renaissance style with bricks. Inside, the building was rebuilt in 1979/80 and housed the city library for several years. Today the building is used as a commercial building.
