Torgau District Court

The Torgau District Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of a total of 25 district courts in the Free State of Saxony .

Seat and District of the Court

The judicial district of the Torgau District Court includes all communities of the former Torgau-Oschatz district ( Section 1, Paragraph 4, Annex No. 22 of the Saxon Justice Act). The court has its seat in Torgau , Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz 14.

An external penal enforcement chamber of the Leipzig Regional Court has been set up at the Torgau District Court . The Torgau District Court was the Saxon inland waterway court. However, this is now the Dresden District Court .

As part of the Saxon administrative and judicial reform in 2012, the Torgau District Court opened a branch in Oschatz on December 31, 2012 after the Oschatz District Court was closed . This is based in Oschatz, Brüderstraße 5.

Superior courts

The Leipzig Regional Court is directly superior to the Torgau District Court. The competent higher regional court is the higher regional court of Dresden .
