historical peat cut pond |
The Amtweiher I is a pond created by peat cutting in the Second World War on the Kleinandelfinger Seenplatte near the Husemersee , which lies between Ossingen and Trüllikon in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland .
The lake is located in a shallow basin northwest of the Husemersee and is supplied with water by the Seegraben . A short drain connects the Amtweiher I with the Amtweiher II. The Amtweiher I is rich in dragonflies and is inhabited by beavers . The area around the pond is polluted with neophytes , mainly goldenrods , which are regularly removed by those doing community service . The lake threatens to silt up without care, which is why the seaweed has to be removed regularly. The use of the lake's fish stock is leased.
