history
According to the official founding version, Bou received tickets from his parents for a Luna Sea concert on his 17th birthday , which excited him so much that he bought an electric guitar and decided to start his own band. The future singer Miku became aware of him on the Internet and liked the idea, which is why he sent Bou an email and they started looking for more members together. They met Teruki through a visual kei forum and Kanon through chats on the Internet. Bou suggested the name Manhattan Cafe for the band, referring to his favorite horse, but the others refused. An agreement was reached on Athletic Cafe, which then became Antique Cafe and finally Antic Cafe. Quite early on, however, the fans considered the nickname An Cafe, which the band members liked so much that they adopted it.
Their first demo tape was called O-PU-NGU . It was limited to 50 copies and was distributed free of charge on June 17, 2003. On July 2nd the second demo tape with the name Uzumaki - Senshokutai followed , this time with 300 copies. On August 10th, they took part with other rather unknown bands in an event organized by Calmando Qual . On September 22nd, they played alongside well-known bands like Duel Jewel at another event.
The year 2004 started with An Cafe with a Twomen Tour with Sinkro . They also signed a record deal with the Loop Ash label . Their first maxi single Candy Holic was released three months later , with which they achieved success in the Oricon charts . Several albums and singles are now available.
After the concert on April 30, 2007, Bou left the band for personal reasons, as Miku confirmed in an interview with Peach magazine . Bou was replaced by guitarist Takuya, keyboardist Yu-ki was also added as a fifth member, who had been an unofficial member until then.
They gave their first concert in Europe as part of the J-Shock Festival in Cologne 2007. In spring 2008 An Cafe made a European tour with 5 concerts in Germany, which was called Nyappy 0 (≧ ∀ ≦) 0 go around the world .. An Cafe live Cafe Tour '08 . In 2009 the Nyappy Go Around the World 2 Tour took place.
In August 2009 the band announced that they would retire for the time being and suspend their activities for some time after a final show in 2010 at Nippon Budokan. At this concert, An Cafe again assured that they would not part and announced a show entitled 20XX SUMMER DIVE.
Shortly thereafter, information about the band's plans for various solo projects followed, including the publication of Miku's book "可愛 湯 's ЯocК レ シ ピ / Kawayu's ЯocК Recipe". A separate event with an autograph session was held in Tokyo's Laforet Departments Store for the occasion.
On April 1, 2012, the band announced their comeback in a live stream. A new mini album and the concert at Nippon Budokan ANCAFESTA'12 「SUMMER DIVE」 were announced. Her third mini album, Amazing blue, was released on August 8, 2012. Her third world tour began in November 2012. In 2013 An Cafe celebrated their tenth anniversary, released the anniversary single Kimi no Machi. They started a tour of the same name through Japan. In the same year, An Cafe released three more singles in June, July and August. In November, An Cafe released the album Hikagyaku Ziprock. The tour finale took place on January 4th, 2014 at Nippon Budokan. Also in 2013 the band announced their fourth European tour under the title "LIVECAFETOUR 2014 NYAPPY GO AROUND THE WORLD IV ~ kawaii Cafekko AISHITERU ~". As part of this tour, they visited Germany, Austria, Poland, Hungary, France, Great Britain, Russia and Finland. A joint tour of Japan with the band Bug Lug is announced on the official homepage.
