history
An Ocean Between Us was founded in Venice in 2008 and consists of the musicians Claudia Shiavon ( vocals ), Nicola Marsilio ( bass ), Daniele Amato ( electric guitar , screaming ) and Alessandro Murello ( drums ).
The EP Drowning was released in March 2009, which was financed and published entirely out of pocket. This is sold out in the first pressing and received some good reviews. The year 2010 brought the group a worldwide recording deal with the British label Casket Music , which is part of Copro Records . In February 2011 the debut album The Failings was released on this label worldwide.
style
Femme Metal describes the group's music style as melodic metalcore influenced by bands like Bullet for My Valentine , In This Moment and Trivium . The Legacy attributes a very strong musical parallel to As I Lay Dying to the band and describes the group's style as a mix of metalcore, melodic death metal and modern metal. The critic compares the group to, among others, Killswitch Engage , Atreyu and Deadlock .
