Ana María González (singer, 1920)
Ana María González (born María Olga del Valle Tardos ; born January 31, 1920 in Jalapa , † June 20, 1983 in Mexico City ) was a Mexican singer.
González began her career as a singer for radio XEB. She then performed at Follies Bergere and with Mario Moreno “Cantinflas” at the Salón Carpa Ofelia . In addition to boleros and rancheros, she also sang Spanish music and became popular on tours of Latin America and Spain. She interpreted songs by Luis Alcaraz , Luis Pons and Armando Manzanero . On a tour through Latin America she appointed Agustín Lara as the official interpreter of his songs. She became known with titles such as Volver a empezar , Golondrina de ojos negros , Camino verde , Contigo , La Zarzamora , Duerme , Espinita o Solamente una vez and especially with Madrid , which Lara composed especially for her. As a singer, she also appeared in several movies.
