Ana Mirela Țermure (born January 13, 1975 in Căianu Mic ) is a Romanian javelin thrower .

Athletic career

Ana Mirela Țermure gained her first international experience at the Balkan Championships in Istanbul in 1999 , where she won the silver medal with a width of 58.96 m. Then she finished seventh at the Summer Universiade in Palma de Mallorca with 56.40 m and also qualified for the World Championships in Seville , where she was eliminated with 58.52 m in the qualification. In the following year she won the Balkan Games in Kavala with a throw of 59.62 m and thus qualified for the Olympic Games in Sydney , where she did not reach the final with 56.31 m . In 2001 she won the silver medal behind the French Sarah Walter with 57.25 m at the Francophonie Games in Ottawa . She also took part in the World Championships in Edmonton and was originally eliminated from the qualification with a width of 52.65 m, but was shortly afterwards tested for the banned substance norandrosterone and then disqualified and banned for two years.

After her suspension, she managed to qualify again for the World Championships in Paris in 2003 , but did not reach the final with 58.50 m. In the following years she only played a few competitions at the national level, but took part in the World Military Games in Wuhan , China , in 2019 , where she came in sixth with a width of 41.88 m. Before that, she was fifth at the Balkan Championships in Prawez with 44.83 m.

In 2000, 2001 and 2003 Țermure became the Romanian javelin champion.
