Ana Pastor García

Ana Pastor García (born December 9, 1977 in Madrid ) is a Spanish journalist . Since 2013 she has been the presenter of the political television program El objetivo de Ana Pastor and the weekly documentary ¿Dónde estabas entonces? (“Where were you then?”) On the LaSexta channel . She previously worked at Cadena SER , RTVE and CNN en Español .

Career

She studied journalism at the private university CEU San Pablo in Madrid. She is the partner of another journalist, Antonio García Ferreras , with whom she has a son.

In 1999 Pastor García started working for Cadena SER. There she was part of the Iñaki Gabilondo team and specialized in international information. She was a special rapporteur for the Southeast Asian tsunami and terrorist attacks in London on July 7, 2005, and has covered countries such as Pakistan , Afghanistan , Niger , Senegal , Equatorial Guinea , Gambia , Liberia and Sierra Leone . In September 2006 she started working for the TVE program 59 segundos . From September 2009 to 2012 she presented Los desayunos de TVE . Other collaborations were Informe Semanal and their collaboration for the RNE radio program Asuntos Propios .

On March 15, 2011, she conducted an interview with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadineschād , which aroused great interest and was also accompanied by some controversy, as the veil the journalist wore slipped over her shoulders, leaving her hair for the rest of the interview remained uncovered. Her answer to the Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa became equally famous : "I am not used to answering questions from interviewees or being called Anita."

In September 2012 she was commissioned by CNN en Español to present a program with interviews with personalities from politics, culture and sport at national and international level: Frente a Frente .

Pastor García currently works for the Atresmedia television channel LaSexta. Since 2013 she has been the presenter of the political television program El objetivo de Ana Pastor and the weekly documentary ¿Dónde estabas entonces? .

She has also worked for newspapers such as El Periódico de Catalunya . In 2018 she founded Newtral , a fact- checking company.
