The Analytica ( spelling analytica ) is the international trade fair for laboratory technology , analytics and biotechnology .
About the fair
The Analytica has been held every two years on the grounds of Messe München since 1968 . It unites the complete range of topics of laboratories in industry and research. The focus of the exhibition is on analytics and quality control , biotechnology / life sciences / diagnostics and laboratory technology. Visitors are decision-makers and users from the chemical, pharmaceutical, food, automotive and medical industries as well as from industrial and public research. In 2018 it had over 1,100 exhibitors and over 35,000 visitors.

analytica conference
The Analytica exhibition area is accompanied by the “analytica conference”. The international conference provides information on the current status and development prospects in analytics. Topics include basic and application-oriented research and development of analytical processes in chemistry, diagnostics, molecular biology and biochemistry. In 2018, 2,074 participants took part in the event. The three-day scientific dialogue is organized by the “Forum Analytics”, the three German societies Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker (GDCh), Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (GBM) and German United Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (DGKL).
Supporting program
In addition to the analytica conference, the live labs as well as many forums and special shows are part of the trade fair's supporting program.
- Live Labs: Special show with established laboratories. Various experiments from current topics are shown, such as B. Plastic analysis, food analysis and life sciences.
- Special show for occupational health and safety with demonstrations and information on the following topics: fires and explosions, safe handling of hazardous substances, avoidance of health hazards with EMKG and PPE
- Forum Biotech: Here, life scientists can find tips for their daily laboratory work.
- Forum Laboratory & Analytics: exhibitors at analytica give practice-oriented and application-relevant tips for laboratory practice.
- Forum Digital Transformation / Labor 4.0: Together with partners, solutions, opportunities and risks relating to Labor 4.0 and digital transformation are presented.
- Finance Day: Addresses life science entrepreneurs and investors. The focus is on financing trends and models related to biotechnology.
- analytica Job Day: Consists of the jobvector career day and the student day. The jobvector career day is aimed at young professionals such as scientists, engineers and technicians. The student day provides information about various job profiles in the industry.
- Further education and training program: Together with the consulting firm Klinkner & Partner, the fair offers a range of courses for laboratory experts.

Analytica is part of an international trade fair network and has several subsidiary events in Asia:
- The analytica China has been held since 2000 in the two-year cycle in Shanghai , People's Republic of China instead.
- The analytica Anacon India has been held annually in Mumbai and Hyderabad since 1999.
- The analytica Vietnam will be held in 2019 for the 6th time.
- Analytica Lab Africa will take place in Johannesburg for the first time in 2019.
