The son of actress Gerlinde Locker first completed an apprenticeship as a retail bookseller and began studying at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . He began his career as a journalist in 1986 at Markt & Technik Verlag in Haar (near Munich) while still studying. After Lenhardt and Schneider left, Locker was editor-in-chief of Power Play for a short time, but left the editorial team after issue 1/92. He was also involved in founding the Video Games magazine (also at Markt & Technik Verlag) and was its first editor-in-chief.

Locker then worked first as a music editor for the German edition of the lifestyle magazine Wiener , then as department head at TV Movie , where he was responsible for the pop culture section. In 1994 he became deputy editor-in-chief of the online service Europe Online. In 1997 he developed the magazine Bravo Screenfun , which he headed as editor-in-chief with a one-year break until 2007.

Locker has been working as a freelance journalist since 2007, including for ZDF , CHIP , Futurezone and other publications. He produced the game veterans podcast until 2014 and is a participant in the talk show "Isarrunde". In 2014 he founded the 3D printing startup All3DP.
