The Andamanendrongo ( Dicrurus andamanensis ) is a species of bird from the Drongos family .
It is endemic to the Andaman Islands .
The range includes tropical or subtropical evergreen and deciduous forest , clearings and forest edges, also dense scrub.
description
The Andaman Endrongo is 28 to 29 cm tall, the subspecies D. a. dicruriformis is slightly larger. The bird is largely black, shiny green with a long tail forked deeply, and a large black beak with a sharp hook-shaped tip. The wings of the hand are brownish.

The male's call is described as a series of uniform, repeated, loud sounds.
Geographic variation
The following subspecies are recognized:
- There. dicruriformis ( AO Hume , 1873) - Large coconut island , table island and north of the Andaman Islands
- There. andamanensis Beavan , 1867, nominate form - all main islands in the south of the Andamans
Way of life
The food consists mainly of winged insects , which are usually captured on the fly.
The breeding season is between the beginning of April and the middle of May.
Hazardous situation
The stock is not considered to be at risk ( least concern ).
