Anders Håkansson (born April 27, 1956 in Munkfors ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who played for the Minnesota North Stars , Pittsburgh Penguins and Los Angeles Kings in the National Hockey League from 1975 to 1986 .

Career

Anders Håkansson began his career as an ice hockey player at AIK Solna , for whose professional team he was active from 1975 to 1981 in the Elitserien , the highest Swedish league. With his team, the attacker was elected runner- up in the 1977/78 and 1980/81 seasons and also in the Swedish All-Star team in 1981. Although he was selected in the NHL Amateur Draft 1976 in the 14th round as the 134th player of the St. Louis Blues and in the WHA Amateur Draft 1976 in the ninth round as the 103rd player of the Winnipeg Jets , but he stayed initially in Sweden, since he started studying engineering there.

On July 22, 1981 Håkansson signed a contract as a free agent with the Minnesota North Stars , for which he scored 12 goals and four assists in the National Hockey League in the 1981/82 season , his rookie year , in 75 games . Initially, the Swede also began the 1982/83 season with the Minnesota North Stars, but after five season appearances on October 28, 1982 he was together with Ron Meighan and a first-round vote for the NHL Entry Draft in 1983 in exchange for George Ferguson and also a first-round vote for the 1983 NHL Entry Draft to the Pittsburgh Penguins . In these he scored nine goals and twelve templates in 62 games by the end of the season. After the season he was transferred for Kevin Stevens ' transfer rights within the NHL to the Los Angeles Kings , where he was a regular player in the following two years. He lost this in the course of the 1985/86 season , but he did not want to play for the Kings farm team and instead decided to end his career at the age of 30 to finish his engineering studies in his Swedish homeland.

International

For Sweden , Håkansson took part in the junior division only in the 1976 World Junior Championship . At senior level he was in the squad of his country in the 1981 World Championship and 1981 and 1984 at the Canada Cup . In the latter, he finished second with his team.
