The Andersnuten ( English Anders Peak ) is a 2135 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises in Holtedahlfjella 1.5 km south of the Gruvletindane rock formation .
Norwegian cartographers mapped the mountain using aerial photographs and measurements made by the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960). Namesake is Anders Vinten-Johansen, medical officer of the research trip. In Russia , the mountain is also known as the Girewspitze ( Russian Пік Гирев ). It is named after Dmitri Girew (1888–1932), dog handler on the British Terra Nova expedition (1910–1913).
