Anderson is a city and seat of the county seat of Grimes County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located about 100 km northwest of Houston , near US Highway 105 and US Highway 6 in south-east Texas and has a total area of ​​1.3 km² without any significant water surface.

history

The city's first name was Fanthorp, later the city was renamed Anderson, after Kenneth Lewis Anderson , the last Vice President of the Republic of Texas , who died here in 1845.
