András F. Balogh (born November 28, 1964 in Cluj ) is a Hungarian - Romanian Germanist and hungarian scientist . He is Professor of German Literature from Southeast Europe at the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj .

Life

Born on November 28, 1964 in Cluj, Balogh studied Hungarian and German at the Babeş-Bolyai University. Between 1988 and 1992 as a German teacher in Măriţei ( Suceava County , Romania ), he continued his studies in Budapest at the Eötvös Loránd University , where he received his doctorate on Transylvanian-German literature in 1993 and was promoted to lecturer in 2002.

From 2004, Balogh was also the holder of the endowed chair “German Literature in Southeast Central Europe” at Babes-Bolyai University, which was sponsored by the Federal Republic of Germany; after the end of the endowed professorship, he was appointed full professor there in 2009. In addition, Balogh was visiting professor at the Justus Liebig University in Gießen in 2007/08 and is a fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation .
