André Büssing

André Büssing (born May 8, 1950 in Vechta ; † October 3, 2003 in Munich ) was a German psychologist and holder of the chair for psychology at the Technical University of Munich .

Career

Büssing studied mathematics and psychology at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen . His degree in mathematics he acquired in 1974, the 1976th in psychology at the University of Kassel University , he received his doctorate in 1982 with a study on job satisfaction among clinical psychologists Dr. phil. For his habilitation thesis - submitted in 1986 at the University of Osnabrück - Büssing examined nursing activities in psychiatric hospitals.

Büssing then worked for an insurance company for a short time before he became professor for work and organizational psychology at the University of Konstanz in 1988 . In 1993 he was offered a chair for psychology at the Technical University of Munich as the successor to Carl Graf Hoyos .

André Büssing died in October 2003 after a brief serious illness.

Work areas

Büssing did research in the areas of teleworking , job satisfaction and stress . Particular attention was paid to the working conditions in the nursing professions . Under his leadership, fifty-one research reports left the Department of Psychology.

Works

Büssing is the first author of eleven monographs and co-editor of several anthologies; he was involved in over a hundred magazine articles and contributions to books.
