André Laporte (* around 1886; † April 3, 1918 in Paris ) was a French composer .

Laporte studied harmony with Albert Lavignac at the Conservatoire de Paris , counterpoint with Georges Caussade , organ with Eugène Gigout and composition with Paul Vidal . In 1913 he was awarded the Prix ​​Rossini , endowed with 3000 francs, for the music for the opera La Joie de vivre based on a libretto by Louis Tiercelin . In 1914, after Marcel Dupré , he won the Second Second Grand Prix de Rome with the cantata Psyché .

Laporte died on April 3, 1918 in the Val-de-Grâce military hospital in Paris.
