André Steensen (born October 12, 1987 in Skanderborg ) is a Danish cycling coach , former sports director and cyclist .

Athletic career

André Steensen was Danish junior road racing champion in 2004. The next year he won the team time trial at the championship. At the junior race Course de la Paix he won two stages, at the Trofeo Karlsberg one stage, at the Grand Prix Patton a section and at Liège La Gleize he was successful once. From 2006 Steensen drove for the Danish Continental Team Glud & Marstrand Horsens . In his second season there he was national U23 time trial champion. At the Tour de l'Avenir 2007 he finished third in the overall ranking. In 2012, he decided one stage each of the Circuit des Ardennes and the Flèche du Sud for himself. He won the Himmerland Rundt and the overall ranking of Kreiz Breizh Elites . Together with Sebastian Lander , Michael Valgren , Niki Østergaard , Lasse Bøchman and Rasmus Brandstrup , he was the Danish champion in the team time trial .

Professional

After ending his active cycling career in 2014, Steensen became a coach. Among other things, he looks after Michael Valgren , Mads Pedersen and Alexander Kamp (2019). In 2015 he was the sports director of Cult-Vital Water and in 2016 of the Stölting team .
