André Unterdörfel

André Unterdörfel (born May 29, 1978 in Berlin ) is a former German speed skater and inline speed skater and today's speed skating trainer of the DESG (German Speed ​​Skating Association). During his active time as an athlete, he was a member of the German national team in speed skating and inline speed skating for several years.

Career as a trainer

Trainer in inline speed skating

During his studies and his own active sport, André Unterdörfel worked as a volunteer trainer in inline speed skating, initially at SCB and from 2002 at SC Charlottenburg (SCC). In 2004 he took over the main responsibility in the high-performance area of ​​the inline skating department of the SCC. The athletes won numerous medals at European championships, world championships and the World Games. His protégés in inline speed skating were and still include Jana opponents , Matthias Schwierz , Victor Wilking, Niclas Kleyling, Elio Cuncu, Giacomo Cuncu and Jakobine Wolf. In 2004 he was employed as the national assistant coach of the DRIV (German Roller Sport and Inline Association) and from 2005 to 2008 he worked as the national coach for Liechtenstein. To this day, André Unterdörfel works in the training facility of the SCC. He has the Trainer B license of the DRIV.

Trainer in speed skating

André Unterdörfel has been employed as a trainer at DESG since 2006. From 2006 to 2008 he worked as an assistant in the national coaching team for men under the direction of Bart Schouten. From 2008 to 2010 he was employed as a U-23 national coach.

From 2010 to 2015 he worked as a national coach assistant in the senior division women / men (mainly all-around). The athletes he coached as an exercise bike in speed skating included u. a. World Cup winner Samuel Schwarz (speed skater) , Tobias Schneider , Jörg Dallmann , Matthias Schwierz and Monique Angermüller . The training group that Unterdörfel last looked after in the senior sector includes the multiple Olympic champion Claudia Pechstein (2011–2015), Robert Lehmann (2010–2014), Marco Weber (2010–2015), Nico Dorsch (2008–2015), Jonas Pflug ( 2012–2015), Willi Koschel (2012–2015), Bente Kraus (2014–2015) and Isabell Ost (2014–2015).

Successes from 2010 to 2015: 4 World Cup medals and 29 World Cup medals

From the 2015/16 season, André Unterdörfel will work in the DESG's junior division. He holds the DESG Trainer A license.

Education

André Unterdörfel completed his studies at the Cologne Trainer Academy of the German Olympic Sports Confederation in 2008 , as a certified trainer of the DOSB , with distinction. In 2011, André Unterdörfel completed his studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin and thus obtained the academic degree as a qualified sports scientist. Both diploma theses were dedicated to the subject of "Speed ​​skating-specific short-track training for optimal speed skating technique in the junior and high-performance area".
