Andrés Kogovsek

Andrés Kogovsek (born January 7, 1974 in San Isidro ) is an Argentine handball player .

The 1.89 m tall right winger played for Sociedad Alemana de Gimnasia de Villa Ballester in his home country before moving to the Spanish ASOBAL league for BM Antequera . "Cogote" ("the coyote") is currently ending his career with his home club. In Argentina he was Player of the Year in 2000, 2002 and 2012.

The left-hander was the long-time captain of the Argentine national team and led them to the 2001 , 2003 , 2005 , 2009 and 2011 World Championships as well as the 2012 Olympic Games , after which he ended his international career after 220 international matches and 470 goals. He won gold with Argentina at the Pan American Games in 2011, silver in 2003, bronze in 1999 and 1995. He won the Pan American Championship in 2000, 2002, 2004, 2010 and 2012.

Andrés Kogovsek is married and has two children.
