Andra Matin

Andra Matin (* 1962 in Bandung , Java , Indonesia ) is an Indonesian architect who is considered a representative of tropical architecture .

Life

Matin graduated from Perahyangan Catholic University in his hometown in 1981 with a degree in architecture . From 1990 to 1998 he worked as an employed architect at Grahacipta Hadiprana . In 1998 he founded his own architecture office in the Indonesian capital Jakarta . His designs and buildings have received multiple awards from the Indonesian Institute of Architects . They are characterized by the use of local building materials and the consideration of local traditions and circumstances. As a result, construction costs can be reduced and follow-up costs, for example for energy, can also be reduced.
