Andrea Bédard (born January 28, 1963 in Sutton , Québec ) is a former Canadian ski racer . She was a member of the Canadian national ski team in the 1980s and was Canadian slalom champion twice in the course of her career.
Bédard grew up in Montreal . In her only Olympic participation in 1984 in Sarajevo , she started in slalom, but retired during the race. In 1985 she reached 15th place in slalom at the World Championships in Bormio . When she failed to qualify for the Olympic Winter Games in her home country in 1988 , she announced her resignation from the national team a few weeks after the end of the games and joined the US Pro Tour . In 1984 and 1985 she was Canadian champion in giant slalom and slalom.
Since the end of her active career, Bédard has worked as a trainer in various ski schools and appears as a commentator on ski broadcasts on Canadian television.
