Andrea Balestri

Andrea Balestri (born September 1, 1963 in Pisa ) is a former Italian child actor who gained greater prominence in the title role of the multi-part television film Pinocchio in the 1970s.

Life

Balestri was selected in a casting for the title role of the multi-part television film Pinocchio in 1972, which was followed by a short further career in three motion pictures . In 1972 and 1973 there were also 3 singles that Balestri sang. After graduating from school, he signed up for the Italian Air Force in the Folgore Parachute Battalion and then worked a. a. as a construction worker, taxi driver and in a supermarket.

In 2000 he played himself in the comedy Faccia di Picasso . In 2008 Balestri published the book "Io, il Pinocchio di Comencini", a homage to the director of his great success. The following year a documentary was made about Comencini's Pinocchio with Balestri.
