Andrea Griesebner

Andrea Griesebner (* 1964 in Schladming ) is an Austrian historian and associate professor for modern history at the University of Vienna . Her research focuses on the cultural and gender history of the early modern period as well as the theory of historical studies.

academic career

Andrea Griesebner studied history, political science and feminist science at the universities of Salzburg and Vienna until 1990 . In 1998 she received her doctorate at the University of Vienna, followed in 2001 by her habilitation with the license to teach modern history. Andrea Griesebner has been an associate professor for modern history at the University of Vienna since 2001.

  • Promotion Prize of the City of Vienna 2001.
  • Käthe Leichter Prize for Women and Gender Studies 2006.
