Andrea Gysi

Andrea Gysi , b. Lederer (born October 4, 1957 in Bad Reichenhall ) is a German lawyer and former politician .

Political career

Before Andrea Lederer joined the PDS , she was a member of the Hamburg Communist League . In 1990 she entered the German Bundestag for the PDS for the first time and was re-elected in 1994. She was always elected to parliament via the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state list . During her time as a member of parliament (until 1998), she was temporarily the foreign policy spokesperson and parliamentary director of the PDS group in the Bundestag.

In 2002 Andrea Gysi left the PDS. The reason she cited was a change in party politics, explicitly a "shift to the left" as a result of the PDS party congress in Gera.

Private

In 1996 she married Gregor Gysi . Their daughter was born in the same year. Andrea Gysi had been living separately from her husband since the end of 2010, and the marriage ended in divorce in 2013.
