Andrea H. Schneider-Braunberger

Andrea H. Schneider-Braunberger (born March 22, 1968 in Coburg ) is a German historian . Since 1996 she has been the managing director of the Society for Company History .

Life

Schneider-Braunberger studied Medieval and Modern History at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. In 1996 she received her doctorate with the topic "The Art of Compromise, Helmut Schmidt and the Grand Coalition". She received a doctoral scholarship from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation .

Since 1996 she has been managing director of GUG and since 2012 she has also headed the Gesellschaft für Unternehmensgeschichte mbH . She has also been editor of the Zeitschrift für Unternehmensgeschichte (ZUG) since 1996 .

She has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Frankfurt Historical Museum since 2007 . In addition, she is involved in the international networking of corporate history research. From 2006 to 2017 she was a member of the Council of the European Business History Association (EBHA). From 2007 to 2013 she was treasurer, from 2013 to 2015 as vice-president and most recently from 2015 to 2017 as president of the EBHA.

She is a founding member of the Society for European Business History e. V. and was part of the editorial team of the “European Yearbook of Business History”.

To date, she has conceived and supervised well over 100 research projects on corporate history topics and organized a large number of scientific symposia , international conferences and lecture events . She is also the author of a number of company stories. Her main research interests are banking history, family businesses during the Weimar Republic , National Socialism and the early Federal Republic of Germany .
