Andrea Miano

Andrea Miano (born May 22, 1909 in Genoa , † July 22, 1987 ibid) was an Italian documentary filmmaker , film director , screenwriter and actor .

Life

Miano began his film career in 1924 as a performer in small roles in films by Guido Brignone , Luigi Almirante and Baldassarre Negroni . In 1938 he founded the production company “San Giorgio Film”, with which he financed two medium-length crime films that he wrote and in which he directed himself. With her he was one of the pioneers of cinema in Liguria . During the rule of the Republic of Salò , he made Caposaldo in 1944 , which, notably, followed in the following year with La nostra ora, probably the first work in Italian cinema dedicated to the resistance , which, however, has only survived in an incomplete form. With the new company “International Film Ligure”, Miano devoted himself to documentary film for more than a decade before he went on new professional paths as a photographer. In 1964 he returned to the industry as camera operator for Adolescenti al sole .

As an author of short stories and short stories, Miano wrote under the pseudonym “Mr. Anderson ”.
