Andrea Römmele (born March 22, 1967 in Stuttgart ) is a German communications and political scientist and professor at the Hertie School of Governance , Berlin .

Life

Römele studied political science, history and art history at the University of Heidelberg and the University of California, Berkeley . It was founded in 1994 at the University of Heidelberg on the basis of the dissertation “Corporate donations in party and election campaign financing. The USA, Canada, the Federal Republic of Germany and Great Britain in an international comparison ”did her doctorate and habilitated in 2001 with the thesis“ Direct communication between parties and voters ”at the Free University of Berlin .

After working for many years at the Mannheim Center for European Social Research ( MZES ) at the University of Mannheim , she accepted an appointment at the private Bruchsal University in 2006 . There she headed the International Communication Management course. Since 2010 she has been a professor at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin.

She is also a member of the Political and Communication Working Group within the German Association for Political Science (DVPW), head of the summer academy "Political Consulting and Strategic Campaign Communication" and managing editor of the magazine for political advice published by VS-Verlag.

Römele is a member of the Presidium of the German Society for Election Research .

In addition to her academic work, she is active in communications consulting for parties and companies.

Andrea Römmele is married to Christian Hesse and has two children.
