Andrea Stelzer (*? In South Africa ) is a former model and beauty queen in both Germany and South Africa.

Life

In 1985 she won the Miss South Africa election after the two competing newspaper publishers, who had previously held separate contests, got ready for a joint event. On the eve of her departure to take part in the Miss Universe in Miami (USA) in July, she learned that South Africa was immediately excluded from this competition because of its apartheid policy. (This was true until 1994.)

Since she also had German citizenship in addition to her South African citizenship , she tried her luck in Germany and was elected Miss Bavaria as Miss Germany 1988/89 by the then Miss Germany Company at the end of 1988 .

On May 23, 1989 she reached the semi-finals in the Miss Universe election in Cancún (Mexico).

Due to her South African origin, she was not admitted to Miss World in the same year.

Her deputies Jasmine Bell ( Miss World and Miss Globe ) and Iris Klein, who won the Miss International , competed in other international competitions . After having equal points at Miss Germany, both came in third.

In May 1990 she reached the semi-finals of the Miss All Nations in Kuala Lumpur . (This competition was only held in 1989 and 1990).

In 1986, 1990 and 1994 she took part in the Miss Hawaiian Tropic election for her native South Africa .

She owns a modeling agency in Edenvale ( Gauteng Province , South Africa).
