Andrea Wicklein

Andrea Meta Wicklein b. Köhler (born March 6, 1958 in Potsdam-Babelsberg ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 2002 to 2017 she was a member of the German Bundestag and from 2006 to 2009 she was the spokesperson for the Building East Working Group of the SPD parliamentary group. From 2011 she was the representative of the SPD parliamentary group for medium-sized businesses / liberal professions.

Life and work

After attending the Polytechnische Oberschule (POS), Andrea Wicklein completed an apprenticeship as a salesperson with a high school diploma from 1974 to 1977 . She then worked as an employee until 1979 and from 1980 to 1982 as a teacher in vocational training for the trade organization (HO). Andrea Wicklein completed a part-time distance course from 1978 to 1984 at the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences , which she completed with a degree in economics. After working as a teacher for adult education in the company academy of the HO Potsdam from 1989 , she became unemployed when the HO was dissolved in 1990. In 1991 she worked briefly as a saleswoman again and in the same year began working as a consultant at the Brandenburg Citizens Advice Service. In 1992 she moved to the office of the Bundestag member Emil Schnell and was then from 2000 to 2002 a public relations officer at the SPD parliamentary group in Brandenburg.

Political party

Andrea Wicklein joined the SPD in 1992 and was a member of the board of the SPD district association in Potsdam from 1994 to 2002 ; from 2000 to 2002 as deputy chairwoman.

MPs

From 2003 to 2005 Andrea Wicklein was a member of the Potsdam City Council .

From 2002 she was a member of the German Bundestag . From September 2004 to October 2005 she was deputy spokeswoman for the education and research working group of the SPD parliamentary group . From November 2005 she was deputy spokeswoman for the Brandenburg state group and from February 2006 she was spokeswoman for the parliamentary group building-up east .

From November 2005 she was also the chairwoman of the SPD parliamentary group in the regional economic policy subcommittee of the Bundestag committee for economics and technology.

Andrea Wicklein moved into the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the constituency of Potsdam - Potsdam-Mittelmark II - Teltow-Fläming II in the federal elections in 2002 , 2005 and 2009 . In 2002 it achieved 41.8%, in 2005 40.7% and in 2009 28.7% of the first votes . In the 2013 federal election she missed out on the first vote share of 32.2% as a direct candidate and entered parliament via the SPD's state list. In the federal election 2017 candidate Wicklein no more.
