Andreas Bachmann (chess player)

Andreas Bachmann (born September 6, 1955 ) is a German grandmaster in correspondence chess .

Correspondence chess

At the 1st German Correspondence Chess Cup for club teams from 1988-94 of the German Correspondence Chess Federation (BdF), Bachmann was on board two members of the victorious SC Kreuzberg . He achieved the next success with his team when he became German correspondence chess team champion in 1999 . At the ICCF Congress in Rimini in September 2001, he was awarded the title of International Grand Master of Correspondence Chess. The BdF awarded him the golden badge of honor. In the ICCF list of January 2017 he has an Elo number of 2630, but he is listed as inactive because his last Elo-rated correspondence chess games took place in 2001. His highest correspondence chess rating was 2,640 in the first half of 2000.

Bachmann holds the title of FIDE Champion in Nahschach, and his highest rating to date was 2310 in July 1992. For SC Kreuzberg , of which he has been a member since 1978, he plays in the 2nd Northern League and the Oberliga, in the 1985/86 season he was also used in the 1st Bundesliga . In 1981 and 1983 he became a university master in Berlin with the TU Berlin . He plays in championship and cup tournaments for SG TaxiTeam / Wiheil , the company sports team of the Wittenauer Heilstätten .
