Andrea Beltrami (born June 24, 1870 in Omegna , † December 30, 1897 in Turin ) was an Italian writer, Salesian Don Bosco and Roman Catholic priest .

He entered the Salesian College in Lanzo Torinese in 1883 and was dressed by Don Bosco himself in Foglizzo in 1886 . From 1888 to 1889 studies at the Salesian High School Valsalice in Turin followed. Finally he received his diploma from the classical high school Vincenzo Gioberti in Turin. He then studied at the Faculty of Literature and Philosophy at the University of Turin .

In 1891 he fell ill with tuberculosis , which is why Giovanni Cagliero admitted him prematurely to profession and ordination . In 1892 he joined the Salesians, in 1893 he was ordained a priest. After a few years of suffering, he died in Turin at the age of 27. During those four years he wrote about 20 works that were published posthumously. There were also translations, for example the Italian translation of the critical edition of the first volume of the works of St. Francis de Sales .

In 1920 Pope Benedict XV opened the beatification process after the responsible diocesan bishop had established the court for it. On December 5, 1966, he was declared venerable .
