Andreas Clemens Biber

Andreas Clemens Biber (born November 21, 1755 in Ellingen , † October 28, 1830 in Nuremberg ) was a German piano maker. He is the founder of the piano building dynasty Biber.

life and work

At the age of 14, Andreas Clemens Biber set out on a journey through Europe. Among other things, he learned in craft workshops in Spain and Portugal. At the end of his journey, he worked for three years for piano maker John Broadwood & Sons in London. In 1794 he settled in Ellingen and founded a piano manufacturing company.

His sons Anton Dominikus and Aloys learned the piano- making trade from their father.
