Andreas Freytag (economist)
Andreas Freytag (born October 23, 1962 in Kiel ) is a German economist and university professor .
Live and act
After an apprenticeship in a bank, Freytag studied economics at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel . There he also worked as a student assistant for Herbert Giersch , professor at this university and president of the Institute for World Economy .
He did his doctorate with Juergen B. Donges , professor at the University of Cologne and director of the "Institute for Economic Policy". From 1995 Freytag was the managing director of this institute.
Since 2003 Freytag has held the chair for economic policy at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena .
Freytag is one of the authors of the INSM blog "ÖkonomenBlog".
