Otto Schnarrenberger

Otto Schnarrenberger (* 1929 in Süßen ) is a former German wrestler .

Career

Otto Schnarrenberger started wrestling at TV Süßen. He developed there to an excellent wrestler in both styles, the Greco-Roman on the international level. Style preferred. He moved from Süßen, who was a machinist by profession, to TV "Jahn" Göppingen and then to ASV Bauknecht Schorndorf . Otto, who fought as an adult in the middleweight division, reached the final of the German team championship with ASV Schorndorf in 1958 against ESV Sportfreunde München-Neuaubing , which Neuaubing won with 22:14 points.

From 1954 to 1958 Otto Schnarrenberger was almost on a par with the German world-class wrestlers Horst Heß from Dortmund and Johann Sterr from Neuaubing, but failed to qualify for the Olympic Games or World Championships in 1955, 1956 and 1958 by one of these two athletes. For this reason he did not take part in an international championship, which was also due to the fact that no European championships were held at that time.

In the only international tournament of rank in which he participated in 1955, he defeated the Olympic champion Branislav Simić from Yugoslavia and the strong Valeriu Bularca from Romania . In three international matches in which he started, he was undefeated.

Otto Schnarrenberger won the German championship once outdoors and once in Greco-Roman. Style, middleweight.
