Andreas Gassen
Andreas Gassen (born July 5, 1962 in Cologne ) is a German orthopedist , trauma surgeon and rheumatologist . Since March 1, 2014 he has been chairman of the board of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians .
Career
Andreas Gassen studied human medicine from 1982 to 1988 at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf , where he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD. From 1989 to 1996 he worked at the Marienkrankenhaus in Düsseldorf- Kaiserswerth , and from 1993 to 1996 as senior physician in the department for arthroscopic surgery and rheumatology. Gassen has been a specialist in orthopedics, trauma surgery and rheumatology in a joint practice in Düsseldorf since 1996 .
Gassen has been President of the Professional Association of Specialists in Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery ( BVOU ) since October 2013 . In 2014 and 2017 he was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians. In this role he is also one of the two chairmen of the Medical Center for Quality in Medicine .
