Paul Lindemann (journalist)
Paul Lindemann (born August 14, 1896 in Hamburg ; † April 25, 1955 there ) was a German economist , Hamburg Senate Syndicate during World War II , politician and journalist .
In World War I, Lindemann was severely wounded and suffering from diabetes . After studying constitutional law, Lindemann received his doctorate on the Hamburg free port in 1926 at the University of Hamburg . In 1933 he was first head of the press office, then head of the administration of the Hamburg State Office, in 1938 Senate director of the municipal administration. He also held a lectureship at the University of Newspaper Studies . From 1942 to 1945 he was a Senate Syndicate . Lindemann was a member of the DDP until 1933, and in November 1933 he signed the confession of the German professors about Adolf Hitler .
After retiring in October 1945 he was a journalist and since 1947 an FDP politician in Hamburg. He was also the managing director of the Übersee-Club from the end of 1948 . His candidacy for the deputy party chairmanship failed due to resistance from the left in the FDP, such as Julius Buschmann .
