Andreas Haug (Designer)

Andreas Haug (born April 25, 1946 in Heidenheim ) is a German designer and co-founder of Phoenix Design.

Life

After completing a commercial and technical apprenticeship, Haug studied product and industrial design from 1968 to 1972 at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart . At the beginning of his career he was Hartmut Esslinger's partner at frog design . In 1987 he founded Phoenix Design in Stuttgart together with Tom Schönherr . Andreas Haug's career is closely linked to the rise of modern German design. He has lectureships at the Technical University of Vienna (Austria), the Universidad de Bogotá (Colombia) and at universities of applied sciences.

Awards

Among other things, Andreas Haug and Tom Schönherr were awarded Europe's most highly endowed designer prize, the Lucky Strike Designer Award , in 1998. He also received other awards such as the Good Design Award and AIT Innovation Prize architecture + health. In 2012, Andras Haug and Tom Schönherr were presented with the German Design Awards 2012 in the "Personality" category for their complete oeuvre. Furthermore, Andreas Haug was a juror for the iF product design award 2013.
