Andreas Kaempffer

Andreas Heinrich Johann Karl Kaempffer (born May 6, 1784 in Hasserode or Friedrichsthal , † December 18, 1846 in Neustrelitz ) was a German theologian, superintendent and court preacher.

Life

Andreas Kaempffer was born on May 6, 1784, the son of the superintendent and court preacher Johann Gottlieb Friedrich Kaempffer (1753-1821) in Hasserode (or in Friedrichsthal near Wernigerode ). He attended the Latina in Halle an der Saale and studied Protestant theology at the University of Halle . After his exams, he first became, as was customary at the time, tutor to the Minister of State August von Oertzen in Neustrelitz. After a short time he was appointed to teach at the Carolinum grammar school , where he was promoted to professor in 1811. At Easter 1829, he was appointed director and awarded the title of school councilor .

With his appointment as superintendent and court preacher as successor to Andreas Friedrich Gottlob Glaser on March 25, 1838, Kaempffer resigned from his education office on March 17, 1838. He died as a Privy Councilor in Neustrelitz on December 18, 1846.
