Andreas Kielmann

Andreas Kielmann (* 1825 in Wismar , † after 1873 in Schwerin ) was a German painter.

Life

Andreas Kielmann was the son of a Wismar merchant. From 1845 to 1847 he studied painting in Berlin and then on a study trip to Paris, Brussels and Antwerp. From 1859 he was based in Schwerin. He mainly painted genre pictures, two of which ended up in the Schwerin Museum, and portraits "that meet the demands of portrait-similarity, but are without any particular artistic idiosyncrasy."
