Andreas Mühlberger

Andreas Mühlberger (* 1970 ) is a German psychotherapist and professor for clinical psychology and psychotherapy at the University of Regensburg .

Life

After high school at school at St. Stephen in Augsburg studied Mühlberger 1992 to 1998 psychology at the University of Würzburg and graduated with a diploma from. He then worked in Tübingen until 2001 , where he received his Ph.D. at the Institute for Medical Psychology and Behavioral Neurobiology at Eberhard Karls University and at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics. -Title while he was a scholarship holder of the Graduate School for Neurobiology .

From 2002 Mühlberger returned to Würzburg, where he qualified as a psychological psychotherapist in 2007 and obtained his habilitation in the same year on the subject of "Biopsychological and clinical-psychological examinations for processing emotional stimuli: From the traditional laboratory paradigm to the virtual environment". Since 2011 he has been Professor of Experimental Clinical Psychology.

In December 2012 he moved to the University of Regensburg, where he is now professor for clinical psychology and psychotherapy.

In his research, Mühlberger mainly deals with stress , anxiety and anxiety disorders and with psychotherapeutic methods of treatment. In addition, his research topics include the areas of attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder , affective neuroscience, virtual reality and emergency situations in road traffic. He works as a reviewer for various scientific journals and for organizations such as the German Research Foundation .
