Andreas Marti

Andreas Marti (born November 5, 1949 ) is a Swiss Reformed theologian , musicologist and church musician .

Life

Marti, organist and church choir director in Köniz since 1974 , studied music and theology in Bern and received his doctorate in 1981 with a thesis on Johann Sebastian Bach's cantatas . He teaches liturgy , hymnology and organ playing at several universities in Switzerland and Austria . He is adjunct professor at the Theological Faculty of the University of Bern .

Marti is the editor of the magazine Musik und Gottesdienst , musical director of the Bernese Singstudenten as well as teaching and performing harpsichordist and organist.

He is married to Rosmarie geb. Dubach and father of five children.
