Andreas Theo Meyerhans (* 1968 in Langnau im Emmental ) is a Swiss historian and politician ( CVP ).

Life

Andreas Meyerhans worked at the monastery archive in Einsiedeln during the reorganization after 2000. From 2000 to 2004 he also worked as a research assistant at the History Department of the University of Zurich , at the chair of Professor Roger Sablonier . From 2005 he edited the book project “History of the Canton Schwyz” on behalf of the Historical Association of the Canton of Schwyz, which was published in 2012 in seven volumes.

Meyerhans works in the health department of the Canton of Zug and as a historian in various publication projects as well as in the archives area throughout the Canton of Schwyz. At Schwyz Tourismus and the Historic Association of the Canton of Schwyz, he is a board member. He is married and has two children.

From 2000 to 2012 Andreas Meyerhans was a councilor in Wollerau . Since 2004 he has represented his community in the Cantonal Council of Schwyz . Since autumn 2010 he has presided over the Schwyz CVP cantonal party and was also the parliamentary group leader in the cantonal council. In 2016 he ran for the CVP in the government council elections.
