Andreas Moborg (born May 12, 1977 in Mantorp , Mjölby municipality ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who played in Germany for the Landshut Cannibals , Eisbären Regensburg , Straubing Tigers and REV Bremerhaven on the position of defender .
Career
After difficult beginnings in Sweden, Andreas Moborg moved to North America. In 1997 he began his career there at the University of Vermont .
In 2001 he moved from there to the East Coast Hockey League for the Trenton Titans . Since he was very convincing in Trenton, he dared to step into the American Hockey League to the Philadelphia Phantoms during the season , in which he only played one season game. He then moved to Great Britain to Coventry Blaze in the Ice Hockey Superleague . For the 2003/04 season he decided to start over at REV Bremerhaven in the major league. With Bremerhaven he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . In the same year after the promotion, the participation in the playoffs succeeded, in which they were only eliminated in the semifinals . But after the new Elite Ice Hockey League was founded in Great Britain , he returned to the Coventry Blaze in 2005. After a mixed season for Moborg, he returned to Germany for EV Regensburg in the summer of 2006 . Through strong performances he aroused the interest of the Straubing Tigers , who signed him in 2007. In Straubing, however, he could not meet the expectations placed on him and after only one season went to the Landshut Cannibals , who were still looking for a defender.
In November 2008 Moborg suffered a split shoulder , which he recovered relatively quickly, so that he was able to celebrate his comeback for the Cannibals in February. Despite being eliminated in the playoff quarter-finals against EV Ravensburg , Moborg extended his contract with the Cannibals. In the following season he was again one of the top performers in the defense of the Cannibals and ended his career after being eliminated in the playoff quarter-finals against the Bietigheim Steelers . From then on, according to various media reports, he works as a firefighter in Canada.
