Andreas Pohlmann

Andreas Pohlmann (born February 14, 1959 in Herzberg am Harz ) is a German artist , art historian and photographer .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1980, Pohlmann studied art history, modern German literary studies and constitutional, social and economic history at the University of Bonn . Free artistic works and experimental photography created during the course were exhibited in the University's Art History Institute. He completed his studies in 1991 with a doctorate on the constructivist painter Leo Breuer . He then worked as a research assistant and curator at the August Macke House in Bonn.

In his photographic work, Pohlmann deals with patterns, structures and rhythms that he finds in landscapes, architectures and abstract experiments. In the early 1990s he published a number of artist books with his own texts and illustrations. Since the mid-1990s, work on texts has stepped back in favor of conceptual and creative activity. Since the beginning of the 2000s, another design technique has been added with the image technique ( lithography ). Since 1991, around 145 publications on topics from architecture, art, urban, cultural, corporate and club history have been created. Clients are collectors, galleries, associations, companies and artists. Since 2010 he has been involved in experimental panoramic photography .

Prizes and awards

  • 1995 Paul Clemen scholarship from the Rhineland Regional Association for the best art-historical dissertation.
