Andreas Pum

Andreas Pum (born May 20, 1971 in Linz ) is an Austrian farmer and politician ( ÖVP ). Pum was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 2003 to 2013 and a member of the Federal Council from 2013 to 2018 .

Life

After primary and secondary school, Pum attended the Higher Agricultural Federal Institute in Sankt Florian , from which he graduated with the Matura . Pum then worked for the Schaumann-Futtermittel company and worked for Agrarmarkt Austria from 1993 to 2007. In 2000 he took over his parents' business in Sankt Valentin .

politics

Pum has been a local councilor in Sankt Valentin since 1995 and was elected town councilor for civil engineering in 1996/97. He has been a member of the Chamber of Agriculture since 2000 and has represented the ÖVP since June 11, 2007 as a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament. He succeeded the outgoing MP Ignaz Hofmacher and took over the agendas of the sports spokesman in the ÖVP state parliament club. Pum is a member of the Austrian Farmers' Union and has held the position of local chairman of the farmers' union since 2001 and of the main district farmers' union since 2002. In addition, he was elected parish party chairman of the ÖVP St. Valentin in 2005. Pum moved to the Federal Council on April 24, 2013. After the state elections in Lower Austria in 2018 , he left the Federal Council on March 21, 2018.
