Andreas Siegfried Schmalfuß (born July 27, 1966 in Zwickau ) is a German politician ( FDP ). From 2004 to 2014 he was a member of the Saxon state parliament . In 2009 he was elected 3rd Vice President of the Saxon State Parliament and held this office until September 2014. He has also been a city councilor in Chemnitz since 2009 .

Life

education and profession

From 1988 to 1991 Andreas Schmalfuß studied economics and from 1991 to 1994 he studied economics at the Technical University of Chemnitz . From 1994 to 1997 he worked there as a research assistant. In 1994 he finished his studies with a degree in business administration . 1997 followed his doctorate to Dr. rer. pole. at the Technical University of Chemnitz, he completed his doctorate on the subject of "To develop a management-oriented cost and performance accounting with a focus on market segment accounting for small and medium-sized companies" with the title "magna cum laude". From 1997 to 1999 Andreas Schmalfuß worked as a consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers Unternehmensberatung GmbH , and he also studied at Dresden International University, which he graduated in 2006 with an LL.M. left.

From 1999 to 2002 he was Associate Director at SachsenLB Corporate Finance Holding GmbH. From 2002 to 2009 he headed the “Business Administration & Corporate Finance” division at M + E Consult GmbH. From 2003 to 2004 he was also the commercial director of Omeras GmbH in Lauter / Saxony . From 1999 to 2014 Andreas Schmalfuß worked as a voluntary lecturer at the University of Cooperative Education Saxony State Study Academy Leipzig. He is currently the dean of the industrial engineering faculty at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences .

Andreas Schmalfuß lives in Chemnitz with his wife and two children .

Political and party career

Andreas Schmalfuß joined the Saxon FDP in 1990 . Since 1995 he has been a member of the state board of the FDP Saxony . In 1999 he was elected deputy state chairman. He has been the district chairman of the FDP Chemnitz since 2008 and was elected to the City Council of Chemnitz in 2009, he announced his resignation from the parliamentary group by fax on August 31, 2015.

From September 2004 Andreas Schmalfuß was an elected member of the FDP parliamentary group in the Saxon state parliament via the state list . At the beginning of the 5th legislative period in September 2009 he was elected 3rd Vice President of the Saxon State Parliament and held this office until the end of the legislature in September 2014. He was also budget and financial policy as well as research and technology policy spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group in the Saxon state parliament.

The main topics of his political work were u. a. the areas of technology, finance and budget policy as well as university policy and science.

Social Commitment

A specialty of the Saxon FDP was the association FDP hilft e. V. Every FDP member of the state parliament, including Andreas Schmalfuß, has donated the net amount of all diet increases, including those from 2003, to the non-profit association since 2004. This supported social, charitable and cultural projects.

Schmalfuß is deputy chairman of the association Freie Mittelstandsvereinigung Saxonia e. V. , a non-profit organization that has set itself the goal of strengthening medium-sized businesses.
